Sex drive goes up – is it normal?

Dear Dr Milrod: Why is it that sometimes I go through a period of being extremely horny? These periods last about a week or two and then I return to normal which isn’t bad also. I have been like this all of my adult life and now I’m in my 50’s and fit and still go through it. Please let me know, it’s a good thing but I’m curious. Middle-aged Stud Dear Middle-aged Stud: Just like females, males also have hormonal fluctuations. In the past, it was believed... Read More

Woman is fickle!!!

Dear Dr Milrod: I’ve been thinking that women are basically “hard-wired” to consider as many angles as possible when it comes to “mating” whereas men have basically one (to a point (g)). What’s your take on it? Mating For Fun Dear Mating For Fun: Indeed, you’re on to something. In 2005, the journal Nature, published some startling studies on the second X chromosome of women – the one previously thought “silent.” But this... Read More

The cave woman diet!

Dear Dr Milrod: I want to get some advice on being skinny. I do some nature diet shakes and bars, I probably eat 600-800 calories every day. Do you think that kind of stuff works? It should, because I’m not eating a lot of carbs and my calorie intake is less than what I use up. Sometimes I eat a few slices of smoked turkey, a little cottage cheese or fruits and berries, but I try not to go over 800 calories a day.  Is it all in vain? I guess I could work out more, but I... Read More

Physical beauty, evolution and the male/female mind

Dear Dr Milrod: As a man I know myself fairly well. A gorgeous woman with a fair personality will get my attention more easily than a fair looking woman with a fantastic personality. I may eventually not continue with the gorgeous woman (after a lot of sex) but the fair looking woman is probably the better choice long term. Do women think this way? (I don’t think so). Is there some evolutionary explanation for this male vs. female difference (assuming I am correct)? Caveman... Read More

When a marriage burns out…

Dear Dr Milrod: I know several instances when the wife, kiddies requiring less direct supervision, wants to return to the work force, get involved in community life, AND, resume the sex life she shelved while raising small children. She goes to the gym, becomes svelte, changes her hairdo, looks enticing in perhaps her mid-40s…but gets no response from her husband, who has either turned to other interests or is on the verge of seeing escorts or having an affair. In these... Read More

Bored with my wife!

Dear Dr. Milrod: I am 44 years old and my wife is 66. Lately our sex life has been so boring that I have started to check out girls on the Web. I just want to be with a younger sexy woman once in a while. Am I evil? What would you suggest the best way for me to deal with this? Gustavo Dear Gustavo: You are certainly not evil. But you and your wife do have a big disparity in age and hence this may be reflected in her physical condition, sex drive, stamina, etc., in comparison to... Read More

Is it wrong to meet with escorts?

Dear Dr. Milrod: I was wondering what you thought about the role that escorts provide in the sexual health of our culture. In other words, in your practice, under what circumstances would you advise a client to patronize escorts? I’m sure that there are plenty of therapists that would never advise anyone to visit a provider. Having Issues Dear Having Issues, I try to encourage my client to come to his/her own conclusions. But in general, I believe that seeing an escort may... Read More

I’m young and I have problems getting erect

Dear Dr. Milrod: I am in my early 20’s and am having problems getting fully hard when with a woman. I have no trouble getting hard when watching porn or anything like that. I’ve only been with four women and have only gotten half erect. Is this considered erectile dysfunction? Should I get medicated for it, or are there other options? I have been taking anti-depressants for a few years now, Im sure that might have something to do with it. Pill Phil Dear Pill Phil: If you... Read More
