Sex Therapy

Sex therapy is the treatment of sexual dysfunction. These issues can include, but are not limited to:

  • Arousal and orgasm issues
  • Sexual desire issues
  • Compulsive sexual behavior
  • Masturbation issues
  • Premature ejaculation
  • Delayed ejaculation
  • Pain during sexual activity

Sexual dysfunction can arise from emotional factors, including interpersonal or psychological problems. Interpersonal problems can arise from marital or relationship problems, or from a lack of trust and open communication between partners. Psychological problems may be the result of depression, sexual fears or guilt, and past sexual trauma, among others. My aim as a sex therapist is to assist you in overcoming these issues and regain a functional sex life. Some of our goals for sex therapy may include:

  • Increased eroticism
  • Heightened intimacy
  • Decreased anxiety during sexual activity
  • Increasing the sexual repertoire
  • A realistic acceptance of one’s own sexual capacity

Sex therapy is conducted exclusively through verbal means of communication (no physical touching) and can resolve a variety of issues for both individuals and couples, be they lesbian, gay, straight, bisexual, transgendered, genderqueer, kinky, vanilla or anyone inbetween.
